【July 11】Infineon Technologies AG, the global semiconductor leader in power systems and the Internet of Things, introduces the new CoolGaN™ transistor 700 V G4 product family. Compared to other gallium nitride (GaN) products on the market, this family of transistors has optimised input and output performance by up to 20%, resulting in improved efficiency, lower power losses and a more cost-effective solution. With the advantageous combination of electrical characteristics and packaging, they are capable of delivering outstanding performance in a wide range of applications such as consumer chargers and notebook adapters, data centre power supplies, renewable energy inverters, battery storage and more.

The product family consists of 13 devices rated at 700 V with on-resistance ranging from 20 mΩ to 315 mΩ. The increased granularity of the device specifications, coupled with a wide range of industry-standard package options such as PDFN, TOLL, TOLT, etc., allows customers to select RDS resistors and packages based on the requirements of the application to optimise and achieve electrical and thermal system performance in a more cost-effective solution.


The devices feature fast turn-on and turn-off speeds and very low switching losses. In addition, with a 700 V E-mode with the industry's highest transient voltage of 850 V, they are better able to withstand abnormal conditions in the user's environment, such as voltage spikes, increasing overall system reliability.
