Introduction
The TLE7368-2E device is a multi-function power supply circuit designed for automotive powertrain systems using standard 12 V batteries. The device is designed to power and monitor a family of next-generation 32-bit microcontrollers (13 µm lithography) that require voltage levels of 5 V, 3.3 V, or 1.5/1.2/1.3 V. The regulator follows the concept of its predecessor, the TLE6368/SONIC.
The regulator follows the concept of its predecessor, the TLE6368/SONIC, in which the output of a pre-conditioner feeds the input of a miniature linear power supply. Specifically, the TLE7368 cascades a buck converter with a linear regulator and voltage follower to achieve the lowest power dissipation. This configuration powers the application even at high ambient temperatures.
The buck converter provides a pre-regulated voltage of 5.5 V and a minimum peak current of 2.5 A. The buck converter consists of two low voltage regulators and a voltage follower. The buck converter is supplied with high accuracy voltages of 5 V and 3.3 V (2.6 V) by two low dropout linear post regulators. The current capabilities of the regulators are 800 mA and 700 mA, respectively. 3.3 V (2.6 V) linear regulators have their own inputs, allowing a buck to be inserted from the buck outputs if necessary to reduce power dissipation on the chip. For the same reason of reducing the power dissipation on the chip, the core power supply (1.5 V, 1.2 V or 1.3 V) utilises an integrated control circuit concept with an external power stage.

Undervoltage detection: undervoltage reset circuitry with adjustable power-on reset delay time, backup power supply with undervoltage monitoring circuitry
