According to three people familiar with the matter, the A17 mobile processor currently under development by Apple will be mass-produced using TSMCs N3E chip manufacturing technology and is expected to be available in the second half of next year.

According to a report on September 15, citing people familiar with the matter, Apple’s goal is to become the first company next year to use the 3nm iteration version of TSMC’s latest chip manufacturing technology, the N3E process, and plans to use it for some iPhones and Mac computers, which also means TSMC's basic version of the 3nm process N3 is indeed unpopular as rumored in the industry, with very few customers.
