On August 18, 2025, Bourns, a globally renowned leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, launched the PEC04 series 4mm incremental micro encoders and the PEC05 series 5mm incremental micro encoders. And the PEC06 model 6mm incremental micro encoder. The new Bourns® micro encoders can provide position and speed information, offering crucial support for control functions in various electronic applications.

The Bourns® PEC04 series is specifically designed for today's more compact consumer electronics, such as mini headphones and smart wearables. The Bourns® PEC05 series is an ideal incremental encoder solution for mouse wheels, smart home appliances and smart wearable devices. In addition, the Bourns® PEC06 micro encoder is highly suitable for smart home appliances and table lamps, assisting designers in enhancing the reliability of the next generation of smart devices.

These new micro-encoders feature an outstanding IP40 dust resistance rating, with rotational cycle lives of 30k, 50k and 20k respectively. They operate within a temperature range of -20°C to +70°C and adopt a robust and compact surface mount design. Additionally, they offer 2-bit orthogonal code output and a 360-degree continuous mechanical rotation Angle. These features make it an ideal choice for the design of consumer electronics with limited space.
