Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation recently announced the launch of a lens-shrinking CCD linear image sensor, "TCD2728DG", for A3 multifunction printers. This sensor is equipped with 7,500 image sensing elements and supports A3 multifunction printers. Compared with Toshiba's existing TCD2726DG product, it has a higher efficiency in reducing random noise (NDσ). This product has begun to support bulk shipment.

The demand for high-speed and high-resolution copying and scanning of a large number of different types of documents in commercial offices is increasing day by day. This is especially true for A3 multifunction printers. Improving image quality has become an important issue, and suppressing NDσ in the signal is of crucial importance.

Compared with Toshiba's existing product TCD2726DG, TCD2728DG has a lower output amplifier gain and can reduce random noise by approximately 40%. This improvement can enhance the image quality of the multifunctional printer. The new CCD linear sensor can achieve a data rate of up to 100MHz (50MHz×2 channels), capable of processing a large number of images at high speed. It is highly suitable for linear scanning cameras in detection systems that require real-time decision-making.

In the future, Toshiba will continue to expand its linear image sensor product line to meet the growing demand for high-speed and high-resolution imaging and sensing technologies, providing strong support for the scanning and sensing applications of multifunction printers and detection equipment.
