Description of LT7184S
The LT7184SRV is a dual-output monolithic integrated multi-phase DC/DC synchronous step-down regulator that can simultaneously provide up to 7A of continuous current from two channels and support loads ranging from -8A to +9A in either channel. The LT7184SRV adopts the second-generation Silent Switcher® architecture with an integrated VIN bypass capacitor, which enables fast, clean and low overshoot switching edges, providing high efficiency at high switching frequencies while minimizing electromagnetic interference (EMI) radiation. The serial interface based on I2C and conforming to the PMBus 1.3 standard can control the device functions and provide telemetry information for system monitoring.
The LT7184SRV is supported by the LTpowerPlay® graphical user interface tool. The output voltage, frequency, phase and device address can be configured using resistors, and the operation can be carried out without programming. Settings can also be written through the serial interface and/or stored in the EEPROM. The controlled on-time valley current mode control architecture features a minimum on-time of 25ns (typical value), enabling high switching frequencies at low output voltages and excellent transient response within a relatively small overall solution size.
