1. Core supplied products
CCFL controller
Cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) are sealed glass tubes filled with inert gas. When high pressure passes through this tube, the gas ionizes and generates ultraviolet (UV) light. Ultraviolet light, in turn, excites the internal phosphor coating to produce visible light. CCFL has several commendable features, including pure white light, low cost and high efficiency.
LCD/CCD/OLED bias
ADI has manufactured a wide range of high-performance switching regulator products, specifically designed for generating bias voltages in CCFL and LCD applications. These boost regulators have typical input voltage capabilities ranging from 0.9V to 30V, output voltages up to 60V, switching frequencies up to 3 MHz, switching currents up to 1.5A, and multi-output capabilities. This functional combination provides a very compact circuit implementation solution and optimizes the battery running time in battery-powered handheld devices.
Electroluminescent (EL) driver
Electroluminescent (EL) displays are solid-state displays that emit light using phosphors in the presence of an electric field. They require a bias voltage as high as 150 V+, so dedicated bias and control circuits need to be used.
