The RH850/U2A area/Domain microcontroller is an automotive control device designed to meet the growing demand for unified electronic control units (ECUs) that integrate multiple applications into a single chip to enable evolving electronic (E/E) architectures.

With 28 nm process technology, the 32-bit R7F702Z19BFDBG MCU is based on key features of Renesas RH850/Px series chassis control and RH850/Fx series body control to improve performance.

The automotive control MCU is equipped with four 400MHz CPU cores and adopts a dual-core lock-step structure. Each CPU core integrates hardware-based virtualization assistance, allowing multiple software systems with different ISO26262 functional security levels to operate independently without interference during high performance. Virtualization AIDS also reduce virtualization overhead to maintain real-time execution. This enables users to integrate multiple ECU functions into a single ECU while maintaining safety, security, and real-time operational requirements.
