Overview
The MAX7365EWA70 I2C interface peripheral provides up to 56 key switch management for the microprocessor.
Each time a key is pressed or released, a key value is generated, simplifying the design of the multi-key input scheme. The MAX7365EWA70 adopts static key input monitoring instead of dynamic scanning mode to ensure low EMI operation. The MAX7365EWA70 can be equipped with a metal switch or a resistive (carbon) switch up to 5kΩ.
The MAX7365EWA70 features automatic sleep and wake-up functions, thereby maintaining the lowest device power consumption. After one programmable sleep cycle, the automatic sleep function places the device in A low-power state (typically 1µA). When a key operation event occurs, the automatic wake-up function configuration device returns from the sleep state to the normal working mode.
The key controller de-shakes the key operation and saves the press and release events in the FIFO (including automatic repetition, if enabled). Interrupt output (/INT) can be configured for pair key events or maximum rate alarms.
Unused key switches can be used as GPI. In addition, the MAX7365EWA70 device has five additional general-purpose input/output (GPIO) ports. GPO can be programmed as push-pull or drain open output, high and low side output drivers. When set to open-drain output, a 100kΩ pull-up/pull-down resistor that can be selected on the enable chip.
The MAX7365EWA70 device adopts a small size (2mm x 2mm), 25 solder ball chip package (WLP), and is suitable for cellular phones, PDAs and other portable consumer products. It operates within an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
