Explanation
The MAX20804TFD is a fully integrated and highly efficient step-down DC-DC switching regulator. It can operate under an input power supply ranging from 2.7V to 16V, and each output can be adjusted between 0.5V and 5.8V, providing a load current of up to 4A. The switching frequency of this device can be configured between 500kHz and 3.0MHz, and it can optimize the size and performance design of the solution.
The MAX20804TFD adopts fixed frequency and current mode control with internal compensation. The MAX20804TFD features an optional Advanced modulation scheme (AMS), which can provide better transient performance under dynamic loads. This device also features an optional discontinuous current mode (DCM) operation to enhance the efficiency under light load. The operation Settings and configurable functions can be selected by connecting the pin jumper resistor from the PGM_ pin to ground.
The MAX20804TFD features an internal 1.8V LDO output, powering the gate driver and the internal circuit (VCC).
