Mingjiada news, according to The Elec report, Samsung Display and LG Display are developing display panel types OLEDoS (silicon-based OLED) and LEDoS (silicon-based LED), according to an earlier report by the media, both companies are Apple A potential supplier of AR/VR headsets, and is developing corresponding Micro products according to Apple's requirements.

It is reported that Sony dominates the OLEDoS market. Samsung Display has stated that the goal is to provide OLEDoS panels with a resolution of 3,000 pixels per inch and a brightness of 10,000 nits in 2024; for LEDoS, the goal is to provide products with a resolution of 6,000 to 7,000ppi; in addition, the target market of OLEDoS is virtual reality devices , while the target market for LEDoS is augmented reality devices.


The Elec pointed out that LG Display began to develop OLEDoS for Apple at the beginning of this year, and recently launched the research and development of LEDoS technology, which is expected to be used in Apple's first AR/VR device to be unveiled next year. Specifically, the inner screen of the headset mainly uses Sony's Micro OLED panel, while LG Display supplies the outer screen at the front.
