Clark Beach, UK, May 6, 2025 - Pickering Interfaces, a global leader in modular signal switching and simulation solutions, announced today The widely popular PXI (41-670) and PXIe (43-670) series LVDT, RVDT and resolver simulation modules under its brand have now been comprehensively upgraded, supporting high-speed resolver simulation up to 130,000 revolutions per minute. It aims to meet the growing demand for high-performance servo system testing in key industries such as aerospace, automotive and defense.
With the increasing reliance of modern control systems on high-speed resolvers, especially in applications with excitation frequencies as high as 80 kHz, the simulation of higher-speed resolvers is becoming crucial. This type of resolver can significantly increase the signal bandwidth, reduce noise interference, and enhance the dynamic response of the system. Traditional low-speed simulation methods often have difficulty in truly restoring the actual working scenarios, and thus may miss potential defects in embedded software.
The upgraded module this time can flexibly support multi-pole pair rotary transformer simulation. For example, when simulating a four-pole pair rotary transformer operating at a rotational speed of 20,000 RPM, the electrical period will reach 80,000 RPM, posing higher requirements for signal accuracy.
We have abandoned our reliance on FPGA simulation and instead adopted real on-board transformer technology. Stephen Jenkins, the simulation product manager of Pickering Interfaces, said, "This enables our module to output real analog signals, achieve high-resolution Angle simulation, and ensure accuracy and reliability even at extreme high speeds."
The upgraded PXI (41-670) and PXIe (43-670) series modules can be widely applied to linear (LVDT) and rotary (RVDT) type variable differential transformers (VDT), and support high-speed rotary transformer simulation up to 130,000 RPM simultaneously. The product is available in two configurations: dual-channel (41/43-670-303) and four-channel (41/43-670-301). Each channel can simulate a 5-wire or 6-wire VDT/ resolver, or two 4-wire devices sharing excitation signals. A single module can simultaneously simulate up to four 5/6-line or eight 4-line resolver channels at most.
In addition, the high channel density design of the PXI platform significantly saves the space of the test system, enabling multi-channel resolver testing to be carried out in a compact structure. The built-in relays in the module can perform open circuit/short circuit fault injection for the input and output of each channel, reducing the reliance on external switchgear. Meanwhile, the user-programmable phase delay function can also be used to simulate the defects of sensors or cables, and enhance the system robustness verification by artificially offsetting the signal.
Pickering Interfaces has always committed to providing a three-year standard warranty and long-term support services for all products. For more product information, prices and procurement channels, please visit the official website
