With the increasing complexity and interconnectivity of the Internet of Things (IoT) field, the demand for wireless devices is changing. It is no longer just about transferring data from point A to point B. Nowadays, devices need to be smarter, more energy-efficient, and designed specifically for certain tasks. Whether it's implementing predictive maintenance of industrial equipment, tracking assets in dense environments, or running button batteries in ultra-low power sensors for years, developers need streamlined, reliable, and scalable solutions that can be adapted to emerging application scenarios at any time.

In the process of communicating with customers and closely monitoring the development direction of the Internet of Things, one thing has become clear: the demand for Bluetooth SoCs designed specifically for certain applications is increasing. Not every device requires all functions. Sometimes, we need to find the right balance between performance, power consumption, and cost for specific tasks. This is precisely why we are building BG22L and BG24L Lite Bluetooth SoCs. These products strive for excellence, focus on performance, and are carefully designed to be suitable for emerging application scenarios in different industries, from ultra efficient beacons to lightweight artificial intelligence (AI) at the edge. These SoCs provide you with everything you need to build reliable and efficient products without over designing or spending too much money.

BG24L ultra-low power Bluetooth SoC: a smarter product that supports ranging and edge intelligence

The design mission of BG24L low-power Bluetooth SoC is very clear: to provide power for the next generation of sensor based IoT applications that require Bluetooth 6.0 functionality, edge intelligence, and ultra-low power consumption, all in a streamlined package.

Its core is support for Bluetooth Channel Sounding. The feature introduced in Bluetooth 6.0 supports devices to use bidirectional ranging to determine distance, achieving sub meter accuracy. BG24L is very suitable for devices that act as reflectors in this process - compact tags or terminal nodes that do not require heavy calculations and only need to accurately and efficiently respond to the host device initiating the task. For example, asset tracking in warehouses, room level presence detection in smart homes, or proximity based security access control systems.

The reason why BG24L is capable of fulfilling this role is that it balances RF performance, response speed, and energy efficiency very well. It has a current as low as 1.3 µ A in EM2 mode and retains 16 KB of RAM storage, while providing stable -98 dBm reception sensitivity and+10 dBm transmission power, ensuring reliable communication even in dense or noisy environments.

Next is the high-precision low-frequency RC oscillator (PLFRCO), which is a self calibrating RC oscillator that can meet the Bluetooth sleep clock accuracy requirement of ± 500 ppm. It does not require the use of external crystal oscillators, thereby reducing system costs, saving circuit board space, simplifying design, and meeting regulatory requirements.

The real standout feature of BG24L lies in its artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) capabilities. With the built-in matrix vector processor (MVP), the device's inference speed has been increased by 8 times, and its power consumption is only 1/6 of that of the CPU processing. This unlocks a range of applications where real-time data from sensors can be used to detect patterns, learn over time, and trigger events without maintaining a connection to the cloud. This makes BG24L highly suitable for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and condition monitoring in industrial or agricultural environments. For example, sensors installed on motors can continuously track temperature and vibration conditions. If these values deviate from the normal mode, the device will mark them as potential early failures, which helps prevent downtime and extend the service life of the equipment.

BG24L is designed for sensor driven devices that support machine learning (ML). Flash memory and RAM have been optimized for this type of application. If your ML application requires more, Xinke Technology has other SoC products to meet your requirements. However, when edge inference is required for real-time sensor data, the BG24L ultra-low power Bluetooth SoC is just right, enabling intelligent, efficient, and ready to deploy deployment.

BG22L small low-power Bluetooth SoC: excellent energy efficiency, simple design

The design philosophy of BG22L is only one: efficiency. Whether used for beacons, simple sensors, or connectionless applications, this small low-power Bluetooth SoC can achieve more functionality with fewer resources - using less power, occupying less space, and requiring fewer external components.

In terms of power consumption, we see that the transmit current is 4.1 mA, the receive current is 3.6 mA, and in EM2 mode it is only 1.2 µ A, with 8 KB of RAM storage reserved. For devices that require a small power source like button batteries to run for years, this is already an excellent low-power performance.

RFSense is a prominent feature that puts the device in deep sleep (EM2 or EM4) mode and only wakes up when RF energy is detected, without the need to turn on the main RF. And it is not limited to Bluetooth frequency. The operating frequency range of RFSense is very wide, from 100 MHz to 5 GHz. In selective mode, it can even recognize specific on-off keying (OOK) modes, so the device will only be awakened when a signal that matches the preset response is detected. This is a major advantage in noisy RF environments, where battery life is crucial for complex applications such as sensors and even tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).

Like BG24L, BG22L also includes PLFRCO. This internal oscillator can meet the accuracy requirements of Bluetooth sleep clock without the need for an external crystal oscillator, thereby simplifying your Bill of Materials (BOM) and making the design simple.

Although BG22L is small in size, it still provides impressive peripheral performance, including a 14 bit ENOB ADC that provides high-resolution sensing without the need for an external ADC.

BG22L is a fully functional SoC optimized specifically for certain power sensitive Bluetooth applications. It doesn't try to do everything - just do what you need, and do it just right.

Simplified Bluetooth SoC: A Smarter IoT Design Strategy

With the help of BG22L and BG24L, we started doing some simple things: building a streamlined Bluetooth SoC specifically designed to solve some practical problems. Whether it's ultra efficient beacons, sensor based anomaly detection, or precise location tracking using channel detection, these new "streamlined" SoC designs are designed to meet the growing needs of IoT developers without incurring unnecessary expenses.

These products strive for excellence, are economically efficient, and have features suitable for IoT applications, which are rapidly developing in various industries, from asset tracking and smart agriculture to predictive maintenance and secure wireless control.

Therefore, whether you are designing battery powered labels that need to be used continuously for many years, or building smarter devices that can make decisions at the edge, BG22L and BG24L can provide you with twice the result with half the effort tools.
