The BQ24800RUYR is a smart battery charge controller based on SMBus interface, designed for one to four series-connected Li-ion or Li-polymer battery packs. It uses a synchronous buck architecture to support a wide input voltage range (6V to 24V) and can be programmed to implement dynamic power management (DPM) to optimise charging efficiency and safety.


With a built-in high-precision ADC (analogue-to-digital converter) and temperature monitoring function, the BQ24800RUYR is able to monitor battery voltage, current and temperature parameters in real time to ensure that the charging process complies with JEITA standards. In addition, the BQ24800RUYR supports multiple charging modes (e.g. pre-charge, constant current, constant voltage, and cut-off phase), allowing users to flexibly configure charging parameters through the SMBus interface to suit different battery specifications and application requirements.
