The HMC394LP4E is a low noise GaAs HBT programmable 5-bit counter in a 4x4 mm lead-free surface mount package. At input frequencies up to 2.2 GHz, the device can perform continuous frequency division in the N range 2 to 32. The output voltage swing is 800 mV, and the duty cycle is inversely proportional to N. At 100 kHz offset, the additive SSB phase noise of the HMC394LP4E is as low as −153 dBc/Hz, making it ideal for low-noise frequency synthesizer applications.
