In terms of security, the 88W8964 SoC supports the WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure (WAPI) security mechanism by implementing the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)/Counter Mode CBC-MAC Protocol (CCMP) and the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP), the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)/Cryptographically Based Message Authentication Code (CMAC), and the WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure (WAPI) security mechanism.
