The ADF5356BCPZ is a microwave broadband synthesizer with integrated VCO, which is mainly used in the phase-locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer for the realization of decimal N division or integer N division . The ADF5356BCPZ uses a series of dividers and can operate in the 54MHz to 6800MHz range. The ADF5356BCPZ synthesizer includes an integrated VCO with fundamental output frequencies from 3400MHz to 6800MHz. Designers can divide the VCO frequency by connecting 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, or 64 circuits to produce an RF output frequency as low as 53.125MHz.
The ADF5356BCPZ's wideband microwave VCO design allows operating frequencies from 6.8GHz to 13.6GHz in a single radio frequency (RF) output. The ADF5356BCPZ synthesizer operates with 3.15V to 3.45V analog and digital power supplies. The synthesizer also uses a 4.75V to 5.25V charge pump and a VCO power supply. If the application requires isolation, the designer can mute the RF output stage. Designers can also use a simple 3-wire interface to control on-chip registers.
