 AT&T said it expects to invest about $48 billion by the end of 2023 to expand its fiber-optic internet and 5G wireless services,media reported.


 AT&T is working to merge WarnerMedia with Discovery after shareholders questioned the high price it paid to become a media and entertainment company. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter. The company plans to refocus on its core business of providing internet and telephony services.


 AT&T said it expects annual capital investments of around $24 billion this year and 2023. It will then be gradually scaled down to $20 billion starting in 2024.


 The company said it expects low-single-digit growth in total revenue in 2022, in line with its previous forecast. At the same time, for the first time, it also provided an outlook for revenue in 2023, which is expected to continue to maintain low-single-digit growth in revenue and adjusted earnings per share in the range of $2.50 to $2.60.


 AT&T noted that after closing the WarnerMedia and Discovery Channel deals, the company expects to pay a total of just over $8 billion in annual dividends.


 Free cash flow for standalone AT&T is expected to be around $16 billion this year and around $20 billion in 2023.
