Device overview:

The IWR6843AOP is a packaged antenna (AOP) device that is an upgrade to TI's family of single-chip radar devices. The device achieves excellent integration in a very small package and is an ideal solution for low-power, self-monitoring, ultra-precise radar systems in the industrial sector. Several families are currently available, including functional safety compliant devices (SIL2) and non-functional safety devices.

It integrates a DSP subsystem that contains TI's high-performance C674x DSP for radar signal processing. The device contains a BIST processor subsystem that is responsible for radio configuration, control and calibration. In addition, the device includes a user-programmable Arm Cortex-R4F for automotive connectivity. The hardware accelerator block (HWA) performs radar processing and eases the load on the DSP to perform more advanced algorithms. Simple programming model changes support a variety of sensor applications and enable dynamic reconfiguration for multi-mode sensors. In addition, the device is delivered as a complete platform solution that includes a hardware reference design, software drivers, sample configurations, API guides, and user documentation.
