The factory covers an area of more than 5 million square meters and is scheduled to start production in 2024. It is mainly used to produce cutting-edge system semiconductors in the fields of 5G, high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI).
However, this factory is not the first factory that Samsung Electronics has built in Texas. As early as the last century, Samsung Electronics established a chip factory in Austin, which currently mainly produces 14nm process chip products.
The report pointed out that the US Austin branch of Samsung Electronics recently released photos of the construction progress of the new factory in Taylor City. At present, the site preparation project has been roughly completed, and the laying of roads and parking lots in the factory is in progress.
