Device Overview

The MTCH105-I/ST provides an easy way to add proximity or touch detection capabilities to any application with a human-machine interface. These devices integrate up to 2, 5, and 8 capacitive touch/proximity detection sensors that can pass through plastic, wood, and even metal front panels using Microchip's proprietary metal capacitance technology. It also supports a wide range of conductive materials as sensors, such as copper pads on printed circuit boards, silver ink, PEDOT or carbon printing on plastic film, indium tin oxide (ITO) pads, wire/cable, and more.

The MTCH105-I/ST uses advanced scanning optimisation algorithms to actively attenuate noise in the signal. Sensitivity adjustment and flexible power modes allow users to easily configure the device at runtime. An active-low output transmits sensor status to the host/master MCU or drives an LED indicator.
