Overview:

The ADSP-21584 processors are part of a new, high-performance, energy-efficient, real-time family that uses two enhanced SHARC+® cores and advanced DSP accelerators (FFT, FIR, IIR) to deliver floating-point performance above 24 gigabits per second. The ADSP-SC58x and ADSP-2158x families consume less than 2 watts of power, making the new processor family more than five times more efficient than previous SHARC products. This benefit provides industry-leading digital signal processing performance for applications where thermal management sets power limits or does not allow for higher fan costs and lower fan reliability. Such applications include automotive, consumer electronics and professional audio, multi-axis motor control and energy distribution systems.

The ADSP-2158x series is designed for applications that require DSP coprocessors and include two SHARC+ cores and a set of peripherals that match the DSP core.
