Overview:

The ADAU1445YSVZ-3A is an enhanced audio processor that routes all input and output signals very flexibly. The SigmaDSP® core has the following features: full 28-bit processing (56 bits in double precision mode), synchronous loading of parameters to ensure filter stability, and 100% encoding efficiency with the SigmaStudio™ tool. System designers can use this DSP to compensate for the physical limitations of speakers, amplifiers, and listening environments through speaker equalization, multi-band compression, limiting, and third-party algorithms to significantly improve the sound quality experience.


The flexible Audio Routing Matrix (FARM) simplifies signal routing and clock issues in audio systems by allowing users to multisource inputs to and from SigmaDSP cores at various sampling rates. The FARM contains up to eight stereo asynchronous sampling rate converters (depending on the device model), SONY/Philips Digital Interconnect Format (S/PDIF) inputs and outputs, and serial (I2S) and Time Division multiplexing (TDM) I/O. Any input can be routed to the SigmaDSP kernel or to any of the asynchronous Sampling Rate converters (ASRC). Similarly, any output signal can be obtained from the SigmaDSP kernel or any ASRC output. This routing scheme can be modified at any time through the control register, giving the audio system great flexibility.


 Second, in a microcontroller-free system, the DSP boots itself from an external EEPROM. There are also multi-function (MP) pins that can be used as general-purpose digital I/O or as input to a 4-channel auxiliary control ADC.
