Product Description:

The ADS1261BIRHBT is a precision 40kSPS ΔΣ analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a programmable gain amplifier (PGA). The device also contains a precision voltage reference and internal fault monitor. These sensor-enabled ADCs provide high-precision single-chip solutions for the most demanding measurements, including weighing scales and resistive temperature detectors (RTDS).


The ADC includes an input signal multiplexer, a low-noise PGA (providing a gain of 1 to 128), a 4-bit ΔΣ modulator, a precision voltage reference, and a programmable digital filter.


The high impedance PGA input (1GΩ) reduces measurement errors caused by sensor loads. The ADS1261 supports five differential inputs or ten single-ended inputs. Integrated current source simplifies RTD measurement.


Features of ADS1261BIRHBT:

• 24-bit high precision ADC

- Temperature drift: 1nV/°C

- Gain drift: 0.5ppm/°C

- Noise: 30nVRMS (20SPS, gain = 128)

- Linearity: 2ppm

CMOS PGA gain: 1 to 128

• Wide input voltage range: ±7mV to ±5V

• Data rate: 2.5SPS to 40kSPS

2.5V benchmark: 2ppm/°C

• Synchronize 50Hz and 60Hz suppression modes

• Single cycle stable mode

• Signal and reference monitors

• 5V or ±2.5V power supply

• Internal temperature sensor

Cyclic redundancy check (CRC)

• Excitation current source

• Sensor burn current source

• Four-way universal input/Output (ADS1261)
