The LAN8830-V/PSA Gigabit Ethernet transceiver (with RGMII functionality) is an integrated three-speed (10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T) Ethernet physical layer transceiver. Designed to transmit and receive data over standard CAT-5, CAT-5e, and CAT6 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables. The LAN8830 features RGMII (Reduced Version mil Gigabit Media Independent Interface Enzyme) for connecting embryo switch ethernet microcontrollers, embryo microprocessors, or embryos. In addition, an embedded virtual machine ethernet Media Access controller (MAC) that provides a copy of the RGMIII interface for 1000Mbps or 10/100Mbps data transfer.

The LAN8830 transceiver reduces board costs and simplifies board layout by using resistors at the top of the chip for four differential pairs. In addition, the LAN8830 has an integrated LDO controller that drives a low-cost MOSFETs to power a 1.2V core.

The device has diagnostic capabilities to enable system tuning and commissioning in production testing and product deployment. Because of the support for parametric NAND trees, faults between the LAN8830 I/O and the board can be detected. Identify faulty copper cables with LinkMD® TDR cable diagnostics. Remote and local loopback capabilities support verification of analog and digital data paths.
