The A31315 3D Magnetic Position Sensor IC is a fully integrated rugged 3DMAG™ Hall effect magnetic position sensor IC designed to support a wide range of contactless rotational and linear position measurements in automotive, industrial and consumer applications.
The A31315 sensor IC integrates vertical and planar Hall-effect elements to detect two of the three magnetic field components (X, Y and Z).
Using configurable signal processing, linearization and Angle calculation, the A31315 is able to measure the absolute rotational position (full Angle 360°, short stroke <360°) or linear position of a moving magnetic target with high accuracy.
The A31315 3D magnetic position sensor IC offers ratio metering analog, PWM or SENT (SAE J2716) interface options to output the Angle or magnetic field between two factory-selected axes from a single shaft. In addition, the SENT interface supports output of field measurements from both channels.
This sensor IC meets the requirements of AEC-Q100 class and has been developed according to ISO 26262. These standards make the A31315 ideal for demanding automotive safety systems, including transmission and powertrain actuators, pedal positions, brake cylinder positions, shifters and electronic throttles.

On-chip Angle calculations with configurable signal paths and flexible linearization enable extremely strict accuracy requirements while minimizing the end time of line programming:
- Piecewise linear and box mode
- Up to 33 points
- Up to 22 points programmable position
• Support SENT (SAE J2716), PWM and ratio metering analog output interface options
• Developed according to ISO 26262 as an environment-independent hardware security element (SEooC) with single-chip ASIL B and dual-chip ASIL D capability (under evaluation)
Compliant with AEC-Q100 class standards, it supports operation in the harsh conditions required for automotive and industrial applications
