DRA821U4TCBALMRQ1 Device Overview:

The DRA821x Jacinto™ 64-bit processor is based on the Armv8 architecture and is optimized for use in cloud-connected gateway systems. System-on-chip (SoC) design focuses on reducing system-level cost and complexity through integrations - especially system MCUS, functional safety and security features, and Ethernet switches for high-speed communication. Integrated diagnostics and functional safety features are designed to meet ASIL-D and SIL 3 certification requirements. PCIe controllers and TSN-enabled gigabit Ethernet switches enable real-time control and low-latency communication.

Up to four general purpose Arm® Cortex-R5F subsystems handle low-level, time-critical processing tasks, insulating the Arm Cortex-A72 core from advanced and cloud-based applications. Texas Instruments Jacinto DRA821x processors include the Extended MCU (eMCU) domain concept. This domain is a subset of processors and peripherals on the main domain designed for higher functional safety, such as ASIL-D/SIL-3. The functional block diagram highlights which IP is included in the eMCU.
