Description:

The Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) product family is specifically designed for offline SMPS with minimal external components.The Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) consists of a high voltage power supply SenseFET and a current mode PWM controller IC.The PWM controller includes an integrated fixed oscillator, undervoltage lockout, leading edge fading block, optimized gate on/off driver, thermal shutdown protection, overvoltage protection, temperature compensated precision current source for loop compensation and fault protection circuitry. The Fairchild Power Switch (FPS) reduces the total component price, design size and weight while increasing efficiency, productivity and system reliability compared to a MosFET or RCC switching converter solution with a combination of PWM controllers. It has a simple application approach and is ideally suited to low cost designs in flyback converters or forward converters.
