Overview:

NX48P0407HNR2 is a CC and SBU protection IC that can avoid the damage of the short-circuited VBUS on the CC and SBU pins of the Type-C interface. It is suitable for USB-PD EPR applications. USB Type-C allows the VBUS voltage to be increased to 48V via the PD 3.1 protocol. Because the contact pin spacing of the Type-C connector is 25% smaller than the contact pin spacing of the micro-USB connector, the CC1/2 and SBU1/2 pins may be short connected to the 48V VBUS when mechanically twisting and sliding the connector.


The NX48P0407 incorporates IEC61000-4-2 compliant ESD protection on the CON_CC1 and CON_CC2 pins, is capable of withstanding ±15KV air discharge and ±8KV contact discharge, and is designed to withstand surge voltages up to +80V.
