The NINA-B112-06B module has an internal antenna, while the NINA-B111 module has a pin for use with an external antenna. This internal PIFA antenna is specifically designed for the small size of NINA-B1. The antenna also has a wide range of more than 300m and is unaffected by ground and component placement.

Overview:

The u-blox NINA-B1 series standalone Bluetooth ® Low Power (BLE) modules are small devices equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, powerful Arm® Cortex-M4 (with FPU) for excellent power performance. The module is designed with embedded low-power crystals to minimize power consumption and thus extend battery life. These NINA-B1 modules use U-connectXpress software and support u-blox BLE serial port services, GATT clients and servers, beacons, and NFC™. The BLE module has full flexibility to add applications and runs on the built-in Cortex-M4 with FPU. These NINA-B1 modules support M4F MCUS, 64kB RAM, 512kB flash memory, Bluetooth mesh networking, and 7 to 20 (up to) Bluetooth connections.

In addition, NFC and SPI, I2C and I2S interfaces are available, and features such as Bluetooth mesh networking, AirFuel and Apple HomeKit are also supported. Combined with the Wirepas Mesh stack, NINA-B1 can form large-scale industrial mesh networks for a variety of applications such as lighting, asset tracking and metering.
