Product Details

The 88EA1512 Gigabit Ethernet transceiver is a physical layer device containing a Gigabit Ethernet transceiver. The transceiver implements the Ethernet physical layer part of the 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-T standards.

The transceiver meets the requirements of automotive applications and is fully compliant with the AECQ100 standard. The device supports a wide range of automotive applications, including when RGMII (reduced pin count GMII for direct connection) to copper/fibre/SGMII with automatic media detection, RGMII to copper, RGMII to SGMII/fibre and SGMII to copper connections are required.

The device also incorporates MDI interface termination resistors in the PHY. This resistor integration simplifies board layout and reduces board cost by reducing the number of external components. The new Marvell calibration resistor solution will meet and exceed the accuracy requirements of the IEEE 802.3 return loss specification.

The 88EA1512 device has an integrated switching regulator that generates all required voltages and can operate from a single 3.3V supply; the device supports 1.8V, 2.5V and 3.3V LVCMOS I/O standards. The device uses advanced mixed signal processing for equalisation, echo and crosstalk cancellation, data recovery and error correction at gigabit per second data rates. 88EA1512 achieves robust performance in noisy environments with very low power dissipation.
