The EEC1005-I/WC-UB1 is a universal, easy-to-configure truly universal backplane management (UBM) device that can be used for hard disk drive backplanes to provide complete storage chassis management and reporting to computing host systems using industry-standard communication protocols.

Protocol support ‌ : Compliant with SFF-TA-1005 version 1.4 specification, supports I2C communication protocol, and can interact directly with Baseboard Management Controller (BMC). ‌

Drive compatibility ‌ : Supports interfaces such as U.2, U.3, and EDSFF, capable of simultaneously managing NVMe, SAS, and SATA drives, reducing the need for cables and connectors. ‌

Security features ‌ : Supports Secure Boot to achieve secure firmware update through the encryption module.

Performance parameters

Interface quantity ‌ : Supports up to 8 I2C ports for host interfaces of UBM and BMC. ‌

Expansion capability ‌ : Supports SFF-8485 standard, provides hardware-accelerated SGPIO interface (for SAS/SATA backplane).
