The nRF52811 SoC is the fourth product in the nRF52 family to add Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) direction finding functionality. Direction finding enables positioning solutions to rely not only on the received signal strength indicator (RSSI), but also on the actual direction of the signal. This greatly improves accuracy and opens up new possibilities for applications in this field. There are two ways to determine the direction, one is to calculate the angle of arrival in the direction of the received signal (AoA) and the other is to calculate the angle of departure in the direction of the transmitted signal (AoD). nRF52811 SoCs are a perfect choice as transmitters in the AoA or AoD case, with their low power consumption characteristics and connectivity features.
