The LAN8650B1T-E/LMX is a 10BASE-T1S single-pair Ethernet MAC-PHY chip. The LAN8650 combines a media access controller (MAC) with an Ethernet PHY to enable low-cost microcontrollers, including those without onboard MACs, to access 10BASE-T1S networks.

The LAN8650's Universal Standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) allows connection to virtually any microcontroller, so the transmission of Ethernet packets and LAN8650 control/status commands is performed through a single serial interface. SPI also requires only four pins, enabling a simpler hardware interface with fewer pins than MII or RMII.
