Broadcom has introduced a next-generation Trident X7 powered by StrataXGS Trident 4 (BCM56690). This is Broadcom's next-generation enterprise switching platform designed to bring 50E and 100GbE networks to server nodes and 400GbE to more data centers.

The Trident 4 architecture provides compiler-driven, user-programmable forwarding and plug-in capabilities at extremely high port density while maintaining minimal power consumption, latency, and board size.

Trident 4 is feature-rich to handle the rapidly growing scale of data center network deployments and distributed computing applications. These features include flexible in-band and streaming telemetry, a large-scale forwarding database with flexible distribution capabilities to suit the required application, and support for the latest data center protocols.

BCM56690 features:
