Part of the SynchroPHY suite of 1GE, 10GE, and 10GE OTN devices, the VSC8574 is a next-generation Gigabit Ethernet (GE) PHY transceiver for carrier applications designed to simplify support for fully traceable timing for G-backleg devices, cellular base stations, and other timing critical platforms. The device uses veri time IEEE 1588 to provide the industry's most accurate IEEE 1588 network timing and synchronous timing.

The VSC8574 supports four dual-media copper/fiber ports with SGMII and QSGMII MAC interfaces. The recovered clock output and integrated IEEE1588 network timing and synchronous timing packet engine enable the VSC8574 to meet the needs of applications requiring high-precision timing without adding unnecessary complexity or design costs.
