The YT8531C-CA is a highly integrated Ethernet transceiver that complies with the 10BASE-Te, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T IEEE 802.3 standards. It provides all the physical layer functions required to transmit and receive Ethernet packets over CAT5E UTP cable.

Utilises state-of-the-art DSP technology and analogue front-end (AFE) for high-speed data transmission and reception over UTP cables. Cross detection and auto-correction, polarity correction, adaptive equalisation, crosstalk cancellation, echo cancellation, timing recovery and error correction are implemented to provide powerful 10Mbps, 100Mbps or 1000Mbps transmission and reception capabilities.
