The BCM8133x is a single-chip, low-power pulse amplitude modulation (PAM-4) PHY. It integrates equalizers and retimers, and supports eight full-duplex, 56Gb/s ports for backplane applications. In eight-way 56 Gb/s mode, the device supports duplex 8×56 Gb/s PAM-4 to 8×56 Gb/s PAM-4 to drive the long range (LR) (30 dB) backplane in the fiber/line card.
