The BCM56263B0IFSBG is Broadcom's tenth generation StrataXGS® product. With power consumption as low as 3.5W in worst-case scenarios, the BCM56260 family is ideal for power-sensitive carrier Ethernet access applications such as microwave full ODU, NID/EAD, and mobile backtrip edge access.

The BCM56260 series provides unprecedented integration of system functions to reduce system BOM. It integrates feature-rich carrier-grade Layer2/Layer3 switches, host processors, Service activation test (SAT) engines, and telecom DPLL into a single device. Comprehensive OAM functional integration completely eliminates the need for additional OAM engine equipment.

The BCM56260 supports an integrated packet buffer with an external packet buffer extension option, using economical DDR3 SDRAM technology. The BCM56260 can handle L2 switching, L3 routing, metro VPN tunneling, and access control lists (ACLs). The virtualization architecture of the BCM56260 seamlessly supports VPLS, VPWS, MPLS-TP, PBB, and PBB-TE tunnels.
