The LTC3633 is a high efficiency, dual monolithic synchronous buck regulator using controlled on-time, current mode architecture with phase locked switching frequency. The two channels can run 180° out of phase, relaxing the requirements for input and output calm. The operating supply voltage range is from 3.6V to 15V, making it suitable for dual-cell Li-Ion batteries as well as 12V or 5V power supplies for point-of-load power applications. The operating frequency is programmable and synchronized from 500kHz to 4MHz using external resistors. This high frequency capability allows the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitors. The only constant frequency/controlled on-time architecture is ideal for high step-down frequency applications operating at high voltages while requiring fast transient response. An internal PLL servos an internal on-time one-shot timer to match the frequency of the internal clock or the applied external clock. The LTC3633 can select between forced continuous mode and efficient burst mode operation.
