The NCV75215 ASSP is designed to work with piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers to provide time-of-flight measurements of obstacle distances during vehicle parking. High sensitivity, low noise operation allows standard 75 mm rod inspection from 0.25 m to 4.5 m. The device drives an ultrasonic transducer at a programmable frequency through a transformer. The received echo is amplified and converted into a digital signal, filtered, detected, and the amplitude is compared to a time-dependent threshold stored in internal RAM. Two-way I/O lines are used to communicate with the host computer (ECU). The master device issues an I/O line command to the NCV75215, and data is returned via the same line.
