The BCM56880B0KFSBG StrataXGS® Trident4 Series is a family of Ethernet switches designed to meet the performance, capacity, and service requirements of next-generation data center and cloud computing environments, as well as high-bandwidth enterprise and mobile network applications.The Trident 4 architecture delivers complete, user-programmable forwarding and instrumentation capabilities at very high port densities, while maintaining minimal power consumption, latency and board footprint.

The Trident 4 has a wide range of features to meet the needs of rapidly scaling data center network deployments and distributed computing applications. These features include flexible in-band and streaming telemetry, a large-scale forwarding database with flexible allocation, allowing customization to the desired application, and support for the latest data center protocols.

To improve network utilization, the Trident4 employs a variety of load balancing and congestion management techniques, including dynamic load balancing, dynamic group multipathing, resilient hashing, latency-based ECN marking, and elephant traffic detection/reprioritization.
