The Marvell Brightlane™ 88Q2220 device is a single-pair Ethernet physical layer transceiver (PHY) that supports operation over unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable. The transceiver implements the Ethernet physical layer portion of 1000BASE-T1 as defined by the IEEE 802.3bp standard.

The 88Q222xM integrates MACsec, which protects against security threats on Layer 2 in-vehicle networks. MACsec secures data exchange on a hop-by-hop basis and protects against attacks such as intrusion, man-in-the-middle and replay attacks.

Manufactured in a standard digital CMOS process, the 88Q222xM contains all the active circuitry required to implement the physical layer functions to transmit and receive data over a single balanced twisted pair. The device family supports reduced pin count GMII (RGMII) and SGMII for direct connection to the MAC/switch port.

- Packet: 88Q222xM in a small 40 pin QFN, 6.0x6.0 mm, 0.5 mm pitch package with wettable flanks

- Integrated voltage regulator: supports 3.3V single supply mode, saving overall BOM cost
