Samsung today announced the Exynos 1380 and 1330, new Exynos processors for the Galaxy A series smartphones, both mid-range chips with 5G support.

The Exynos 1380 uses a 5nm process and has four ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores at 2.4GHz and four ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores at 2GHz, complemented by a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU at 950MHz, a 144Hz refresh rate FHD+ display, and support for LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 DRAM chips and UFS 3.1 storage.

The integrated Triple ISP supports a 200 megapixel camera sensor, and the built-in NPU has 4.9TOPS of computing power, slightly higher than the Exynos 1280, and supports 4K 30fps video recording with EIS, HDR and real-time object recognition.

The Exynos 1380's built-in 5G modem supports millimetre wave and sub-6GHz 5G networks with peak download speeds of up to 3.67Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1.28Gbps. Galaxy A54 5G phone.

The Exynos 1330 is a major upgrade to the Exynos 850, bringing a faster CPU, more powerful GPU and 5G. The Exynos 1330 is Samsung's first entry-level chipset using the 5nm process, with two 2.4GHz Cortex-A78 CPU cores, six 2GHz Cortex-A55 CPU cores and Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, FHD+ resolution display with 120Hz refresh rate, LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 DRAM chips and UFS 2.2 / UFS 3.1 storage compatibility.

The Exynos 1330's internal ISP supports up to 100 megapixel cameras, as well as a 16MP + 16MP dual camera setup, and the MFC (Multi Format Codec) can record and playback 4K 30fps video in HEVC, H.264 and VP8 codecs.

The Exynos 1330 has a built-in 5G modem and supports sub-6GHz 5G networks with peak download speeds of 2.55Gbps and upload speeds of 1.28Gbps. It also supports BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and USB Type-C ports. This chipset has already debuted in the Galaxy A14 5G and is expected to be used in more low-end Galaxy A series smartphones.
