The QSGMII interface combines four SGMII interfaces with a rate of 1.25 Gbps into a differential signal with a rate of 5 Gbps.

The QSGMII interface reduces the number of pins connected to the MAC interface and reduces the overall power consumption.

The QSGMII MAC interface can be used as a copper network cable (electrical port) or optical fiber (optical port).

The 88E1340 can also support the SGMII interface on the interface connected to the MAC, which is used for the application of an SGMII interface connected to the electrical interface.

The 88E1340 integrates termination resistors and capacitors for the MDI interface into the PHY. The integration of this resistor simplifies board layout and reduces board cost by reducing the number of external components. The new Marvell calibrated resistor program will meet and exceed Accuracy requirements of the IEEE 80 2.3 return loss specification.

The 88E1340 device supports Auto-MDI/MDIX at three speeds, making installation more convenient and reducing installation costs.
