CITICCO Mobile, together with Qinghai Unicom Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Unicom (Hainan Prefecture Unicom), has recently completed the construction and opening of 900MHz base stations, successfully completing the regional construction target of Hainan Prefecture Unicom CITICCO Mobile.

CITICCO Mobile Qinghai Representative Office and Hainan State Unicom successfully completed the construction and opening of the first 900MHz demonstration station, and took the lead in completing the construction of 100% of the current site in Hainan State, with all test indicators meeting the requirements, and the network coverage indicators of the newly built site area significantly improved in field tests, with good user perception.

According to the introduction, in the pastoral areas in the big mountain valley, there is no network coverage before, 900MHz network can provide the pastoralists with higher quality and good perception of 5G network.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has approved China Unicom to re-farm the 904-915/949-960MHz frequency band (900MHz band) currently used for 2G / 3G / 4G systems for 5G systems.

With low propagation loss, wide coverage, strong penetration capability and low network deployment cost, the 900MHz band is globally recognized as the "golden" frequency band for public mobile communications and was the main frequency band used by the early 2G public mobile communications system.

According to the relevant person in charge of China Unicom, by the end of this year, China Unicom will build 170,000 new stations in rural areas for its 900MHz low-frequency network, which can quickly improve rural 5G coverage and help the construction of digital villages.
