PowerPath, ideal diode and load switch

Analog Devices PowerPath, ideal Diode controllers, and load switches protect power supplies by minimizing the reverse current back to the power supply and the breakdown current between the power supplies. The power supply can be selected by highest voltage or highest priority.

USB power switch

Power layer /CardBus switch

The MAX1608/MAX1609 Power layer /CardBus switch provides remote input/output expansion via the SMBus dual-wire serial interface. Each device has eight high-voltage open-drain outputs that double when used as TTL level logic inputs, providing continuous bidirectional functionality.

Power monitor

It also provides reliable control over the switching characteristics of IGBTs (insulated gate bipolar transistors) and MOSFETs (metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors) configurations.

Power control

ADI's power control portfolio includes ideal diodes, PowerPathTM controllers, MOSFET drivers, bridge drivers, and other non-pressurized power applications.

Relay driver

Some types of equipment, such as telecommunications or automated test equipment, often use multiple sets of relays to switch almost any type of signal near lossless. In these products, multiple relay coils are powered by a single power supply that must be large enough to drive all coils simultaneously.

Monitoring circuit

ADI Power Supply Voltage Monitors and microprocessor monitors monitor positive and negative power supplies and integrate up to eight power monitors in a small package. If any power supply is above or below a user-defined threshold, these devices will generate a reset signal. The reset time is usually fixed at 200 ms or can be adjusted by a single capacitor. In addition to power monitoring, the CPU and ASIC can also be monitored by an integrated watchdog timer.

Surge suppressor, overvoltage and overcurrent protection

Analog Devices' family of high-voltage surge suppressors, overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, and circuit breaker ics provides robust front-end protection that improves system reliability through compact, easy-to-design, low-power solutions. Ideal diode bridge

Analog Devices' Ideal Diode Bridge controller replaces the four diodes in a full-wave bridge rectifier with a low-loss MOSFETs, resulting in significant reductions in power consumption, heat generation and voltage drop. Schottky diode bridge rectifier is a classic circuit used for full wave AC-DC rectification and DC polarity correction.

Energy monitor

Among other key parameters, Analog Devices' energy monitors provide accurate on-board power metering. The internal accumulator provides an accurate reading of the charging energy and time, with the option of using a convenient internal crystal or a more accurate external crystal as the timebase.

Current limiting switch

ADI offers switches with internal current limits to prevent damage to host equipment due to load errors. These analog switches have low on-resistance and input voltages can be as low as 2.0V.

Cable voltage drop compensation

Analog Devices' cable voltage drop compensation technology provides a solution for strict load regulation of longer, highly resistive cables without the need for an additional pair of remote detection wires. Devices in this product family continuously query line impedance and correct the power output voltage through a feedback loop, maintaining a stable voltage on the load regardless of current changes.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) interface controller
