RECOM introduces new micro DC/DC converters for grid-driven applications
RECOMs new range of isolated power modules are available in miniature 36-lead SSOP SMD packages.
RECOM's new range of isolated power modules, available in a 36-pin SSOP SMD micro package measuring just 12.83 x 7.5 x 3.55 mm, is a cost and performance solution.
These isolation modules have multiple input ranges covering 12 V, 15 V and 24 VDC nominal input voltages from 8.5 V to 27 VDC, with power ratings up to 2.5 W, depending on the model chosen and temperature range. Each product has two fully regulated output voltages that can be set to asymmetrical plus and minus voltages or a single plus and minus voltage as required to meet the various gate drive voltages required by IGBT, Si and SiC MOSFETs, and GaN common-source, common-gate HEMT units.
For example, modules with product model number R12C2T25/R can operate at 9-18 VDC input voltages and can be programmed to +18 V/-5 V outputs to fit the requirements of SiC MOSFETs. Operating temperature ranges from -40°C to 100°C, derating depending on the model. The series has an enhanced isolation rating of 5 kVAC/1 min, an operating voltage of 1.4 kVDC, a low isolation capacitance of less than 3.5 pF, high dV/dt, and CMTI immunity up to 150 kV/μs.
The product provides complete control and protection features, including input undervoltage and overvoltage lock, overtemperature, output overload, and undervoltage and overvoltage protection. The product also provides a turn-off control pin and a power good signal function, which indicates that the output voltage is within acceptable tolerances and can be safely used for gate drives.
