MediaTek Tengui 8400 adopts TSMC 4nm process and the worlds first Cortex-A725 full macrocore architecture.

November 1, MediaTek Tengui 8400 adopts TSMC 4nm process and the world's first Cortex-A725 full macrocore architecture.


Cortex-A725 is Arm's new flagship CPU this year, based on the Armv9.2 instruction set, and compared to the previous generation of Cortex-A720, its performance has been improved by 35 per cent and energy efficiency by 25 per cent. The MediaTek Tenguix 8400, on the other hand, removes the small cores and offers a significant performance boost compared to the previous generation Tenguix 8300.


In terms of scores, the Tenguet 8400 has a theoretical score of between 1.7 and 1.8 million, which gives it a performance advantage over the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform (around 1.6 million), but still falls short of the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, which currently tops 2 million total AnTuTu scores.


What's more, the advantage of Tengui lies in the extremely high price-performance ratio, the previous generation chip Tengui 8300 was applied to Redmi K70E, the relevant terminal debut price is within 2000 yuan, Tengui 8400 chip will rely on the price-performance ratio advantage, help MediaTek in the mid-end and high-end chip market to further conquer the city and expand the market share.
