Introducing:

The ams OSRAM TMF8805 is a highly integrated time-of-flight (ToF) sensor with a VCSEL light source based on SPAD technology combined with high-speed TDC and on-chip histogram processing to ensure fast and accurate distance measurements, even under challenging lighting conditions.


The TMF8805 benefits from an excellent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a wide dynamic range that effectively overcomes multipath effects while supporting detection distances up to 2500 mm. Its built-in sunlight suppression algorithm and high-performance filters ensure measurement stability under strong outdoor light exposure. In addition, the sensor's ultra-small package size of only 2.2x3.6x1.0mm3 makes it ideal for space-constrained applications.


With its high accuracy, low power consumption and reliable performance, the TMF8805 becomes an ideal ranging choice for a wide range of applications such as robotics, factory automation, access control, presence detection in smart homes/computers, face recognition, mobile and wearable devices such as AR/VR, IoT and even UVC processing.
